Speed Analysis Tool

Speed Analysis Tool – Planned Feature in TimeTrack Pro

Calculate and visualize speed from timeline velocity data — see how fast you moved during commutes, runs, cycles, or trips — all offline and private.

1. How Speed Data Is Captured

  • Velocity field in JSON exports (meters/second)
  • From fused location — GPS + motion sensors
  • Accurate when moving >5 km/h (good for driving/cycling)
  • Less reliable walking or stopping

2. Planned Speed Analysis Interface

  1. Import timeline
  2. Go to Stats → Speed Analysis (new tab)
  3. Select date/range
  4. Filter by activity (driving, cycling, walking)
  5. App calculates: average speed, max speed, speed vs time graph
  6. Tap segments → see details + copy values

3. What You Can Learn

  • Average speed per trip — e.g. commute 32 km/h
  • Max speed — spot fast sections or speeding
  • Speed consistency — traffic jams vs free flow
  • Activity type — confirm cycling vs driving
  • Safety insight — high speeds in residential areas

4. Use Cases

  • Commute: Compare routes by average speed
  • Cycling/running: Track pace improvement
  • Driving: Monitor habits or fuel efficiency
  • Tax mileage: Realistic speed for route proof

5. Privacy & Battery Notes

  • 100% offline — no data sent
  • Uses existing export — no extra GPS
  • Encryption option for saved graphs
  • Better with high-accuracy mode exports

6. Manual Alternative Until Launch

  • Copy times between points
  • Estimate distance from map
  • Calculate speed manually (distance/time)
  • Focus on longer segments for accuracy
